1. Who is responsible

We decide what happens to your personal data (under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we are the “Data Fiduciary”). For any question about your data, or to use any of the rights in section 8, write to info@pfeil-and-bogen.com. Mr. Prashanth Barathan handles these requests himself.

2. Visiting this website

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking and loads nothing from other companies — fonts, images and video come from our own server. The server needs your IP address for a moment to send you the page; it does not keep an access log, so your visit is not recorded.

Links to WhatsApp, Google Maps or Google reviews only take you to those services when you click them; from then on their own privacy terms apply.

3. Registering for a course

When you send the form on our registration page, we receive: your first and last name, email address, phone / WhatsApp number, date of birth, the German level, batch and mode of learning you choose, your previous German learning, your institution or employer if you name it, and the two confirmations you tick (that your details are accurate and that you have read our terms), which we keep as a record.

Why: to reserve your place, check that the level suits you, contact you about your batch, start date and fee, and enrol you. We ask for your date of birth to place you correctly and because students under 18 need a parent or guardian's consent (section 6).

4. Sending an enquiry

When you send the enquiry form, we receive your name, email address and the topic you are interested in, and — if you give them — your phone number and city. We use them only to answer you. If you tick “Send me updates about German programs”, we will also email you about new batches and programmes; you can stop this at any time by replying “stop” or writing to info@pfeil-and-bogen.com.

We use your registration or enquiry because you gave it to us for that purpose (Section 7(a) of the DPDP Act). We send you updates only with your consent (Section 6), which you can withdraw at any time.

If you contact us directly on WhatsApp or by email instead, we receive what you send there and use it in the same way. WhatsApp is a service of WhatsApp LLC / Meta; its own privacy terms apply to the messaging.

5. Where your details go

Your registration or enquiry is stored on a server in Germany. We receive an email that something new has arrived — without your details — and our staff open it in a password-protected area of that server.

We do not run this server ourselves. It is operated for us by our web developer, Benjamin Marcel Farmer, Kastellgasse 5, 83358 Seebruck, Germany, who processes your data only on our instructions and under a written data processing agreement. He uses two service providers, both in Germany: 1blu GmbH, Riedemannweg 60, 13627 Berlin (the server), and STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin (sending the notification email). Our own mailboxes are provided by Google (Google Workspace).

We do not sell your data, do not let anyone else use it for advertising, and do not share it with anyone else — including universities, employers or partner organisations — unless you ask us to, or the law requires it.

The server keeps no record of your IP address with your form. To stop automated spam, it counts submissions for ten minutes under a scrambled value made from your IP address with a secret key; the server does not store your IP address itself, and these counters are deleted within minutes.

6. Students under 18

Students can register from the age of 12. If you are under 18, please fill in the form together with a parent or guardian. When you send the form, your details are stored and sent to us as described in section 5. We then contact your parent or guardian and ask for their consent. Until we have it, we use your details only to contact your parent or guardian — not to enrol you and not for updates — and if they do not consent, we delete your registration.

7. How long we keep your details

Registrations and enquiries on the server are deleted automatically 12 months after we receive them. The notification emails we receive contain none of your details. If you become our student, we keep what we need to run your course and account for your fees for as long as Indian law requires us to.

8. Your rights

You can ask us at any time for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and what we do with it; to correct, complete or update it; and to erase it where we no longer need it. Where we rely on your consent (for example for updates about programmes), you can withdraw it at any time — as easily as you gave it. You may nominate another person to exercise these rights for you in the event of your death or incapacity.

Write to info@pfeil-and-bogen.com. We reply as soon as possible and at the latest within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Our courses are offered to people in India, and Indian law (the DPDP Act) governs how we handle your data. Because our web developer operates the server in Germany, his part of the processing is also subject to the EU General Data Protection Regulation. If you believe your data has been handled wrongly on that server, you may also complain to the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, Ansbach, Germany).

9. Changes

If what we do with your data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
